Volvo

Located in Gothenburg, Volvo is a Swedish company that was first established as far back as 1915. It is therefore one of the oldest car manufacturers still producing vehicles to this day. One of the most interesting features in regards to Volvo is that its current operations are truly massive in scope. Not only does the company produce a wide range of cars, but it is also heavily involved in the trucking industry as well as buses, construction and even financial services. This is arguably one of the reasons why it has enjoyed so much success over the years. While Volvo cars are known around the world, their line of trucks tends to dominate the European markets much more when compared to the United States.

What Defines a Volvo?

Volvo has always billed their vehicles as being some of the safest on the road. This is one of the reasons why they are often chosen by families and the older generation. These units were also notable due to their rather bulky appearance during the 1980s and 1990s. However, Volvo is now appealing to the younger generation thanks to the addition of roadsters, convertibles and other sporty units. We should still point out that they have never sacrificed quality or safety for visual appeal. To this day, Volvo cars are some of the safest on the road.
