Subaru

Subaru is a Japanese vehicle manufacturer that is considered to be the twentieth-largest car producer in the world. It is actually interesting to note that the name Subaru is derived from the name of the Pleiades constellation when translate into Japanese. This is also the reason why its logo appears the way that it does. Subaru was first formed in 1915 and it began as a corporate venture into the budding aircraft industry. One of their first products was a small scooter made from spare aircraft parts after the cessation of the Second World War. However, they soon branched out into more typical car production and there are now a number of different branches located around the world.

The Characteristics of a Subaru

One of the core tenets of Subaru vehicles is that they are “inexpensive and built to stay that way”. This was actually the company slogan used between the 1970s and 1980s. Such a characteristic has not changed much and Subaru is still known to be an economical choice for those who may be on a budget and still desire a quality vehicle. Subaru models are popular with families and especially those with young children due to their formidable safety record. While the company has not ventured into renewable forms of power to the same extent as its rivals, they are beginning to research electric engines as well as hybrid vehicles.
