Top Used Electric Cars

Although electric and hybrid cars are still considered to be rather new to the markets, their variants have been around for the better part of a decade.  Newer models are extremely efficient and excellent investments.  However, there are many times when one can only afford a used vehicle.  Let's briefly examine some of the best used electric cars on the market as well as a few features worth noting.

The 2011 Chevrolet Volt

The Volt earns high points due to its ability to use a gasoline-powered engine as a back-up to electrical supplies.  As the average price paid for a used model is just over $12,000 dollars, the Volt is also one of the most affordable options on the market.  Excellent handling capabilities and an interior design that is quite futuristic are two other benefits to mention before moving on.

The 2010 Ford Fusion

The Ford Fusion was one of the first electric cars to enter into the marketplace and some believe that this vehicle has come to define the entire category.  Offering a sedan style, the Fusion is often chosen by those who have families; the unit can sit up to five passengers comfortably.  High safety ratings, all-weather driving conditions and an engine which mimics the efficiency of a gas-powered vehicle are certainly attractive features.

The 2010 Mercury Milan

A roomy interior is the hallmark of this mid-sized electric car.  Many also said that the powertrain on used models is much faster that equivalent 4-cylinder gas-powered engines.  So, speed is never a real concern.  Voice-activated controls and leather seats lend a luxurious feel to the Milan and yet, used models can be found for under $13,000 dollars. Smaller hybrid battery packs signify that less space is taken up within the trunk and this has helped to create the space that passengers enjoy.
